My name is Sydney Berkeley, and I explore the intersection of art and science. In May of 2022, I graduated with a BFA in Ceramics at Maine College of Art & Design. In April of 2023, I completed a fellowship at Pocosin Arts in North Carolina where I created a body of work focusing on medicinal herbs. I am now focusing my connection to the Earth and currently I am working as a research technician in the USDA Cranberry Genetics & Genomics Lab at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. As someone concerned about our Earth's health, I am taking time to consider what it means to be creative rather than using clay mined from the land to make work that is not fully realized.
